Sometime in August, I came across a very powerful sermon by
Myles Munroe (MHSRIP). The title of the sermon was “the myth of singleness”. It
talks about how society tells us we are incomplete if we are not married and
how God desires that we remain single (separate, unique and whole) and that it
is possible to be single but not alone.
Let me not start
preaching because I can go on and on, simply because I loved the sermon so much
and what I learnt I would love to share with every woman out there. But that is
a story for another day.
So one thing that was emphasized in that sermon is the fact
that the most important relationship in life is intrapersonal and not
interpersonal and that is what I want to dwell on.
How much do you love yourself????? How much do you know
yourself??
How much you love yourself reflects on the outside and
affects how you carry yourself and sometimes even the choices and decisions you
make.
Love is a human basic
need, I mean we all want to love and be loved but how much someone loves you is
somehow dependent on how much you love yourself.
If you don’t love yourself why should someone love you? If
you hate your body, hate your hair, hate your nose, hate your personality, why
do you expect someone else to love it? If you can’t live with yourself why
should someone live with you?
Love yourself, take care of yourself. You are beautiful and
unique, there will never be another YOU. Celebrate your uniqueness and quit
trying to be someone else. Acknowledge that you are the best of you that God
has. Love yourself because God loves you. Your worth is beyond the clothes you
wear, it’s beyond the number of likes you get on facebook. You are God’s
treasure, you are valuable to him. Begin to see your value.
When you understand who you are, and how important you are,
people will see it through you and will treat you as such. With the
consciousness of the beauty within you, you will then be able to have
meaningful interpersonal relationships because the more VALUE you add to
yourself, the more value you will add to someone’s life.
You are God’s best. Believe it. Accept it and live that way.
I truly agree.. positive thinking about oneself is important in personal development and that includes self love....
ReplyDeleteTrue. It all begins with oneself.
