BEING A NATURAL BRIDE'S MAID.

In june this year, one of my beautiful friends Inonge, asked me to be one of her bride’s maids. I was more than excited, you ask why???????? This was the first time a friend of mine was asking me to be a bride’s maid. *Feeling proud*
Being a bride’s maid means routine dancing, pretty dresses, hot shoes etc but I was not worried about all that, I was more concerned about what I would do with my hair. Deep down my heart I wanted to wear my fro to that wedding but I knew it was up to the bride to decide how my hair should look on that day. I hoped and hoped that she would let me wear my hair natural.
Well, Inonge had 6 bride’s maids in total and guess what???? She asked us to pair up and choose 3 hairstyles , one for each pair.
The first pair chose to weave their hair, the second pair chose to do braids (masai) and the third pair (me and my partner in crime Tints) chose to wear our hair natural.  *sigh* knowing that i was allowed to wear my hair was exciting but then came the choosing of a style that would work for both me and Tints.

My favourite Teyona Paris updo wouldn't work for both of us because of the difference in lengths. I had to come up with something and well i settled for the 'good old bantu knot out', simply because it has never disappointed me and it looks great on any length.
I believe pictures speak louder than words, so sit back, relax and enjoy……

we the natural sisters.*wink wink*

MY STYLE: HALF UP HALF DOWN

HOW I ACHIEVED THE STYLE:

Started out with a chunky twist out which was done on slightly damp hair.
I pinned the sides of the hair backwards and made a pampadour in front.
The yellow flower was added to accessorize.
I hope you like it.

PRODUCTS DO NOT GROW YOUR HAIR.

More and more people are being drawn to natural hair and I love that. However, people really haven’t learnt a thing about hair care and healthy hair practices.

The popular question is “Your hair is so long, what products do you use?”

Half the time I don’t know how to answer that question because I do not have this MAGICAL product that everyone is expecting me to tell them about.

The other day I was checking the Zed hair request facebook page, Fatima had put up a picture of a girl with beautiful long natural hair and one of the comments was “I want that hair, what products does she use?”

There are so many people still thinking that in order to grow long hair, you need to use a certain product and they think you are hiding ‘the big secret’ whenever you tell them products do not grow your hair.

I am not against products, infact they are necessary for healthy hair but are only effective with the right techniques, in a nutshell healthy hair practices top it all. You can have all the best products in the world, but if you do not know how to handle your hair, it will not grow.

Stop focusing on new products and start paying attention to how well you treat your hair, it will thank you for it.

stay blessed.

THE HOLY GRAIL - T444Z HAIR FOOD.

If you keep yourself updated on the happenings in hair community then you have probably come across this product- T444Z.

I had heard so much about this product but mostly from people in other countries. Even though I watched and read all the testimonies from people who claimed T444Z helped grow their hair, I still had HUGE doubts. Call me a doubting Thomas, but hey i am sceptical about the so called ‘magical’ hair foods.

A few days back as I was gallivanting around northmead ,I saw the product through the widow on the shelves in one of the salons. I don’t know how I found myself in the salon, holding and staring at the product up-close, but I am sure curiosity took me there by force. Lol.

One of the salon attendants walked towards me and begun telling me about how the T444Z helped grow her hairline back and she told me all the nice things about the product. I was still sceptical though, I mean she works in the salon, she couldn’t possibly say anything negative, now could she?
I feel I will never believe all the testimonies unless I see it work for myself. Am I going to try the product? I am not sure yet but maybe I will so that I too can have a story to tell about the infamous T444Z.
